The ONIX Z5 is well balanced with a good sized sweet spot. The face is lightly textured for great ball control and the grip...so far... doesn’t seem to need an overwrap like my prior paddle.

Very solid racket with large sweet spot and great stability. Super playable from beginner to advanced players. Unfortunately, you give up touch and spin for the power that it brings. Also, the grip is pretty cheap and slippery. Finally, since the face is so hard, it is louder than the average racket. I like playing with it, but will probably look for another racket.

The Onix Z-5 is my favorite paddle. I am fairly new to pickleball but have some tennis and pig pong background. When playing with the Onix paddles you get a very distinct sound when the ball is hit on the sweet spot of the paddle that no other paddle has. If you like power and spin the Onix Z5 is your best bet in my opinion. This review also asked about quality of the product. It is hard to rate quality unless you know how the player is going to use the paddle. If you are a hard hitting tennis style player or play one on one you might want to buy two paddles and keep a back up, because you will find that most paddles get dead spots within 8-12 months (sometimes sooner) of hard play.

I have been trying this product out for the last two weeks, and it works very well for me. The paddle has plenty of power and feels good in drop shots to smashes.

This paddle is making a marked difference for the better in my outdoor play which is somewhat affected by wind. I have been playing with a lighter graphite paddle with a slightly longer handle and still prefer this one for indoor play, but the Z5 gives me much more power which as an elder I really appreciate. I like my new paddle.
