I've only had it for about a week and so far so good. It is holding a charge for over a 24 hour period with moderate use. Way better than the non-OEM brand I purchased about a year ago for $10. That one wasn't any better than the original old worn out battery I had in my phone. Because of that experience I hesitated till now to order this battery when I had no other choice than to either take a chance with this battery of shell a few hundred dollars for another phone. The battery was too dead to power on my phone when it arrived, which was fine. Even after charging for 2 days on an external charger it never indicated that it was fully charged, which was strange. After using it in my phone for the first time, at least now it does indicate a full charge when the cycle is complete. However, it has about the same life as 2 other batteries I have that are 2 years old. I was hoping for new battery life, when I could go all day on 1 charge. I get about 1/2 day from 100% charged. So, this has become my 3rd spare battery, rather than the primary battery I was hoping for, and expecting.

The add states that it is an OEM Samsung battery. The only way to know if it is a Samsung and not a counterfeit is the ask Samsung. Asians make wonderful OEM and counterfeit batteries. I don't care which I get as long as it will hold a full charge. I have a wall mounted battery charger. I take the battery out of the phone and stick it in the charger and after charging this battery will only charge to 88%. I also have a charger with a USB cable that is from Samsung for the Samsung Galaxy S5, it came in the Samsung box. Using that charger it will only charge to 91%. So you have to make a decision whether you want a battery that charges to an average of 90% or 100%. You don't want to have to pay for the shipping twice. The seller may not know whether their battery is an oem or counterfeit.

Updated review 7-23-20: changing 3-star to 4-star. I realized why this battery was not holding a charge. I have no service on the phone and use it only for a camera and alarm clock at this time. I was leaving the phone on all day and it was roaming, looking for a signal and wearing down the battery. I changed it to Airplane mode, and now the battery lasts for several days. Original review: It doesn't hold a charge as long as the original. The original battery was amazing. Maybe it was manufactured years ago and has been sitting around a long while. It's a good value for the very low price. I didn't want to pay $35-40, but you get what you pay for.

This was my fourth attempt to find a good replacement battery for my 2 year old Samsung Galaxy s5 phone.
