I bought my first Mil-Spec HAWG back in 2005 and used it as my Liberty Backpack to carry what I needed while going on tours, sightseeing, shopping or mountain bike riding in other Countries we stopped in on Deployment. Big enough to carry snorkeling gear (mask, snorkel and swim fins) towel, swim shorts, snacks. Still more room to carry bike repair tools, spare tubes, pump and cable lock inside of it. Great for going out shopping in foreign market places to carry whatever you buy on the go. These newer redesigned 2013/2015/2019 HAWG's seem to have just about the same (or a bit more) carrying space as the older 73000 model but with 500D Cordura, Laser-cut Molle panels, and newer Antidote/Crux Reservoirs. I've used mine as a Carry-On bag on flights and being able to cinch the bag tight to prevent excess movement makes it great when in crowded spaces. You're not banging or bumping into other people like other huge backpacks do which seem like you're "bull-dozering" through or swinging a wrecking ball behind your back. Overall a great everyday carry pack for going out for the day or night.Read full review
