My first flatiron was a Babyliss Pro and I loved it. However, I bought it used on eBay and it stopped working after a short time. I then purchased a Sedu because it had slightly better reviews at the time. The one thing about the Sedu is that the controls are on the inside of the flatiron, which prevents accidentally turning it off as you use it. Hair glides smoothly through the Babyliss plates, but not so smoothly through the Sedu. After using the Sedu for about 3 years, I decided to purchase another Babyliss. Accidentally turning it off is less of an annoyance than the difficulty of styling my hair with the Sedu was. I love it.

I used this flat iron and know that it is of high quality! It is a little less damaging on your hair than those cheaper flat irons. If I could change the width I would go with a 1 inch rather than a 1 1/4 inch but that has nothing to do with the quality of the product. This is a brand that professionals use so I would definitely recommend it!

I bought this after my other straighteners failed. I have had 2 conair straighteners, neither did well on even my fine thin hair. I read reviews that this was the #1 straightener on the market and that it would straighten on the first pass through. The price I found it for was extremely lower than the internet price, which was appealing. I have used it twice on very thick, curly hair. I was hoping the internet reviews were correct, they stated the unit straightened hair on the first pass over it. I had to pass over the small pieces of hair several times before they straightened, which was disappointing. I had it at the highest setting. I have used it once on thin, fine slightly wavy hair. First past worked just fine on the lowest setting. Prior to this I owned a Conair, and the Babyliss is FAR superior. This unit is Ergonicmically friendly - I have tendonitis in both wrists and after an hour with the unit I had no problems at all. It gets hot in moments, which is great. Products seems lagit however the way it was shipped wasn't the best. It was simply wrapped in christmas paper with no protection. With this said the flat iron seems to have survived but plastic container was retaped during shipping and one end was damaged during shipping. But luckily when I inspected a d plugged in it seems to work fine. Only one try so far hope it will keep working because seems like a great flat iron.

My stylist suggested this iron because I didn't want to spend hundreds of dollars on a Sultra Seductress. I've used it twice so far, and I seem to like it. My hair wasn't super curly when I used it, so we'll see how it goes later on. I had a few fly aways afterwards, without product in my hair, but not nearly as many as I'm used to. My previous straightener was an InStyler, but I can't see myself using it again while my BaByliss is around. It runs through my hair EXTREMELY smoothly, which is nice. It also heats up very quickly, and doesn't get too ridiculously hot externally. The product would be even better if it came with a heat pad to place it on after use.
