Ive read some reviews Pertaining to G&Ls ASAT CLASSIC BLUESBOY 90, some say this guitar was built for blues,,,,i have to say I have never played the a guitar that sounded nor felt like another, even ones of the same make and model, to many factors in the wood, pickups, set-up etc. Point being I have owned a lot of different brands and models, once I discovered G&L, USA made, I have never considered another brand, I own quite a few models from different years, and I have to say these are the most versatile sounding guitars ever made, if course you take the master of guitar building, through in the master of pickup building, well George and Leo made up the dream team In the guitar world. I've been able to get any tone I have wanted from any G&L model I've owned, regardless if model. The ASAT doesn't have the a tremelo bar, but you can get the clearest cleans, as well as some of the most defined metal sounds from any G&L.....I really don't want to sell this one, it's brand new, but it doesn't make since to keep 2 of them same year and model....You will love any real G&L you own, each Isa work of art....Read full review

As suggested by the name, the ASAR classic has a nice bluesy/jazzy sound. The output and overall tone would probably not be the best for hard rock or metal. The bridge pickup alone would work for some country as it has a fair amount of twang, but isn't harsh. I found the sound to be even and crisp on a clean setting through a Super Champ SCXD and string-to-string clarity held (in some complex chording) when played at somewhat higher volume through a Fender Super 210. I've mostly used it with both pickups on where the bridge pickup adds some clarity and definition when compared to using the neck alone. By itself, the neck is a bit muted ... great for mellow jazz but it lacks a little punch ... that the bridge pup adds back in. My ASAT was made in Indonesia, not USA, however the construction quality is top rate. No issues with the neck, how the neck sits in the pocket, the finish or the fretwork. If mine is representative of the quality, then they're more than worth the money. I can find no fault at all with the quality, playability or overall sound.Read full review
