This is a great travel guitar. It is small enough that it can easily go anywhere with you. The sound is very good for a guitar of its size. It has some bass and a nice warm tone with the mahogany top. To get the best sound out of this guitar, you really need 12's. I tried 11's and it was really chimey and the bass was diminished. I got mine for $220, which was a pretty good deal. The thing to remember is that these sell daily from online retailers at $319 with free shipping and a lifetime warranty. Mine came with the action a too high to comfortable play above the fifth fret. This required some work, including a truss rod adjustment and the saddle sanded down about 1/8 of an inch. The result is great playing guitar. Had I not known how to do this, I would have been charged $50 at a store to have a setup done on the guitar, which brings it close to retail price. Just realize that adjustments are free under Taylor's warranty, so you may wind up spending retail or more if you purchase it and it needs work. Hope this helps everyone. Enjoy.Read full review

This little guitar is surprisingly well made, with a high quality of workmanship. The fit and finish are very good. The neck is a typically comfortable Taylor neck that is very enjoyable to play. The sound is rather unimpressive, however. I would recommend skipping over this model and going up to a GS Mini which is a little more expensive, about the same size and light-years ahead in sound quality.

It fills a need for me to have a small instrument that's easy to carry and I can play in the back seat of the car. The frets are considerably smaller than the Martin M-36 I play, so getting clean chords is a little tougher even though my fingers are long & small. It's definitely suited for small players. I'd recommend the GS Mini over this for a guy with thick fingers. It's great for picking out melodies and the tone is improving the more I play it. This is my second Taylor and it won't be my last. They make a nice instrument. You just have to determine how you'll be using it (as an adult) to see if it makes sense. It's a no-brainer for kids- nice quality at a reasonable price and it will hold it's value for resale.
Great sound from a small body. I once had a Little Martin and this one sounds a little richer and more rounded, presumably from the all-wood construction and the use of a mahogany top. I give 4 instead of 5 stars because the frets are just a little bit sharp on the edges of the neck, extending like a micrometer outside the neck.

This guitar was the perfect size for my 9 yr old daughter. She loves playing it and so do I. It has a great finish and great sound. I also have the Taylor Big Baby and this is a great line of guitars.

This guitar is everything I wanted and more. Considering the price and size, it is for me, the best guitar I could find anywhere. I compared to others (more expensive) and found their tone to be either flatter, muffled, or tinny in comparison to the very vibrant sound the Taylor produces. It is small but doesn't feel dinky, it feels good. The quality of materials and finish, the gig bag, everything speaks of quality. I was prepared to be underwhelmed but have been completely happy with this purchase.

I can not believe how resonate this little guitar is!! Ring a harmonic on one string and the other strings chime in and continue after you mute the one you rang. Not a dreadnaught but a much better tone and build than all the new budget parlor size guitars. Great case. Nice to just have laying around and pick up when the mood strikes. I just gave the truss rod a small adjustment and the action is fine. It appears higher than you might think but plays great and strings bend easily. I think lowering it anymore might cause bass strings to rattle so I am leaving it as is.

Great guitar great value, for a little guy it has serious sound bite. Great lows, mids, highs. Hard to put down once you start playing one, don't hesitate to buy the instrument, it lives up to its Taylor made name.
