bought this for the grandkids to beat around on. upgraded the RAM and installed windows 7 and it turned out to be a usable if a little slow windows machine. if you're looking for a machine to get the kids started with and don't mind doing a little work these are cheap and great for that purpose. if you're in need of a machine and strapped for cash these would likely be usable as office PCs for simple word processing and such but i wouldn't try this as a primary machine.

The used Apple iMac (MA710LL/A) (17", 1.83 GHz, 512 MB, 160 GB) Mac Desktop I purchased was a replacement for the G4 that I passed on to my kids for gaming. I don't know much computer jargon but I am impressed with the ease of use and it's design. The OS ten is new as I was used to 9.2 but 'll get around that. My only concern is that the intel based mac which this one is cannot be used to play classic games of the 9.2 OS based systems. Other than that I can see a lot of uses and web surfing on this unit. 8 out of 10. Not bad really. Now as to the sellers. I will say they are a great group of people that do stand by what they sell. Each time I called them they had the right answer and where more than helpful. 10 out of 10.
I was very surprised that this computer was in excellent condition, at least from what I could see. The screen wasn't cracked at all nor was it pixelated. I only seen some faint scratches near the top of the casing, but wasn't too noticeable from a distance. I didn't have any issues setting up the computer since I'm familiar with doing so. I was a little disappointed that I could only download Chrome because Safari wasn't able to update further to 6.1. My kids are able to use it easily. It's just enough computer processing for their age. The price was super reasonable and I plan to buy another in two weeks! I hope that I can buy another one for the same price. Needless to say I was blown away and so were my kids.

I am very pleased with my recent purchase of the Apple iMac Desktop. I have always had good luck with my ebay purchases and this one was equally successful. I bought the iMac because it is a nice compact computer that fits into a small office space. My other iMac no longer served my purposes. I couldnt afford a new one so i had to see if someone out there is helping those of us that like the Mac but can't afford the high Mac prices. Buying used and refurbished ones is my best route. I don't know what else to say about it except that i needed to upgrade to a newer version of the computer i already had The webcam doesnt work as well i would like. it disconnects after about ten minutes. i don't use it often; but when i do; it is annoying to reconnect after a short period. This computer works as well as all Mac computers- very nicely. This is a wonderful desktop computer from iMac that is still great to use in the modern days. These computers can stay close up to date so you can install the latest software. Unfortunately, anything under 2007 models cannot be upgraded to the new Mountain Lion 10.8. Easily repairable by anyone who knows how to use a screw driver and treat the parts like a pint glass at a club. As long as you upgrade the memory to it's full capacity and keep the software to date. It's something to fall in love with.
Even though this iMac is a few years old, it still performs flawlessly. OS X 10.4 Tiger definitely lacks some of the features that 10.5 Leopard has such as iChat's screen share. However, I installed Parallels and it runs Windows XP perfectly. I bought this computer to replace my mom's old Pentium 4 PC and I have no regrets. Now I can video chat with her and it's easier than ever for her to check her email. Note: I only installed Windows because there was one little program she needs that only runs on Windows =( Otherwise I would've stayed away.

Good little computer if, it meets requirements to update OS , to Lion or higher.Must have Intel core 2 duo processor. If it has Intel core duo processor.without the 2 ,then you are very limited on what you could do with this computer. You could go to Apple Store & look up requirements for Lion OS & higher , to be sure machine is up-datable .
