I've been playing the Yamaha Flutes since 1974 played in the best orchestra such as the Phantom of the Opera at Portland Oregon. When it comes to the Yamaha flutes a lot of the parents that purchase these flutes don't have a clue as to what to expect in regarding of what to look for such as the padding the corks or the cork inside of the mouth piece which is the most important part for sound & tuning quality of the instrument. A lot of people don't seem to understand that when they purchase a used flute that the other person before them can or could have heaven knows what kind of diseases that can be passed on the next player. The player of the flute should always take professional lessons first before considering joining a band at their school. The beginner must learn of how to position their mouth correctly on the mouth piece as well as learning all the functions of the instrument itself a little at a time before purchasing this instrument (Yamaha) for professionals only otherwise the beginner & the parents will be completely dissatisfied.Read full review

This Yamaha flute, said to be vintage 1983, appeared to be virtually new and unused. Remarkable. The flute arrived from Japan to my doorstep in New York in four days. Also remarkable.
