This is the second one I owned. After breaking the first one due to my negligence(after about 5 year ownership), I experimented buying cheaper sound cards online. Big mistake! Low sound volume, or the left side output would blow out on my earbuds or the sound card just would not last. When I saw this used model up for sale, I jumped on it. Great sound, volume, durability. I love it all for $30. Great deal. Creative Labs makes great products. No question!

The only problem with this sound card.....is finding it. Creative Labs advertised this as an addition to your PC. They missed a larger market, you can add this to any audio system and increase your listening enjoyment. Your desktop, laptop,television,vehicle,on a trip with any audio player and a set of speakers this card will add depth, definition and dimension. Easy to set up,simple to adjust and tailor your sound to any atmosphere you desire. A live sporting event(such as NASCAR) will take on a new experience......If a driver misses a shift you will know it. The headphone jack is a great plus. Once you add this sound card to your audio chain, your friends will always want to watch a movie at your home.
Pretty amazing sound quality out of my Macbook Pro with this new toy. Crystalizer improves overall clarity of sound from compressed music files(according to the website). Does a amazing job in improving overall quality. CMSS-3D basically just provides 3D surround sound similar to PC Audio graphic card. However, at times, it distorts certain types of music especially R&B as well as Dance tracks. Overall a great product but a little on the expensive side for it performance
I really like the plug and play aspect of this usb soundcard. No software to install. My computer hooks up to my home stereo via mini jack to rca jack and plays through my home stereo receiver, which pumps music to Bose 301s and a Velodyne 8 inch sub. Using the card help my highs sound a little cleaner, but i could not detect deeper bass. switching the 3d feature on added noise , and really over emphasized the high frequencies.
