I have two other computers. One has a Intel Dual Core Processor and the other has an AMD Dual Core Athlon. I was surprised with the speed of the Core 2 Duo, it is faster than the Intel Dual Core by far and it is not a top of the line processor by today's standards. I am slow to upgrade but I am very pleased with the processor for my needs. I am upgrading to a Shuttle that will take a Core 2 Quad so my Intel Dual Core machine is going to become a backup machine. Saved a lot of money buying on ebay and will be working on a upgrade path for my pc's. Computers are a hobby for me and I may end up selling one of them to cover the upgrades.
Very fast and runs very cool at a low wattage and is easy to overclock. Only scores a 3.8 on Windows 7 system rating, but outperforms my Athlon 5200 that scores a 5.6. Sometimes I do not understand the Windows 7 rating system. Makes no sense. But there really is nothing that I dislike about this item. Great item even if it were a bit more expensive. Intel really out did themselves this time with this little beauty.
Intel Pentium Dual Core E5200 2.5 GHz Processor BX80571E5200 at first i wasn't able to run any test on this processor due to a bios issue I contacted this seller which give a couple of tips after following his advise I was able to update the bios on my motherboard which fix the problem the processor is now running like it is supposed to.
This is a good processor but are getting difficult to find. The HP MediaSmart Windows Home Server I am using only supports 3 processors (it does support more but they are not plug and play, you have to tweak a bit) and this is one of the 3. Performance is good and heat increase was minimal compared to the original Celeron 2GHz.
I knew that the processors in this series work well at a frequency higher than the standard. So it was. My CPU is turned to overclock by 90% by bus and 55% of the processor frequency. In this case, my system is absolutely stable.
The E5200 (or any Wolfdale processor) is at a great price point and does the job. It may not be the biggest and best... but seriously.. for the price its perfect. I already overclocked mine to over 3Ghz (from 2.5) and its doing well.
Great processor for the price. Best Dual core value. 2MB of L2 cache 2.5ghz, this is truly a great processor, even for entry level gaming.
until now this processor to respond to me all the work and performance as good as I wanted quickly and with such mega cache responsive to the thousand wonders
