Your favorite Italian plumber returns for more out-of-this-world adventures in Super Mario Galaxy 2 for Nintendo Wii. The mechanics of the platform-style play closely follow those of the first game, but with new levels, puzzles, collectibles, and power-ups to master. As in previous games, Mario's friend Yoshi can grab items with his tongue and spit them back at enemies. You can also use his sticky tongue to swing across chasms and reach new areas. New gadgets for Mario include a drill that allows the plucky plumber to bore through a planet's surface to the other side. Each 3D planet offers gravity-specific challenges to overcome, from working upside down to gliding from area to area. With plenty of new worlds to explore, Super Mario Galaxy 2 provides hours of family-friendly fun.

A Good, Not Great, Super Mario Adventure (and better than the first)
Maybe not quite as compelling as fellow 3D platformers Super Mario 64 or Super Mario Sunshine, this sequel to Super Mario Galaxy is still a brilliant game in it's own right, with gorgeous graphics, charming storytelling and characterization, and genius level design. It does feel slightly more fleshed out than the first while still having the same mind-bending gravity based platforming of the original. The Galaxy games may not have the sense of exploration and discovery of the best 3D Mario games, but they certainly have the same level of fun and ingenuity. Highly recommended!
The graphics are good as usual, the spinning worlds however make me dizzy and nauseous. CAUTION: If you are susceptible to motion sickness this game may not be for you. So far (first few levels) It is not as compelling as the older Mario Versions.
Buy it if you couldn't have enough of the first Mario Galaxy. 3
I give Mario Galaxy 2 a 4/5 only because the story isn't as creative as the first Mario Galaxy was. In Mario Galaxy, Rosalina would read a story to Mario every 2 completed missions (Getting a Star). Her story was beautiful, and very calming. Sad in a lot of parts, because her mother left to become a Galaxy (Or a giant star I think). So Rosalina waited for her, but noticed she wasn't coming back after she ventured out into space with a star she befriended she named Luma (CHUBBY STARS ARE SO CUTE...! 3). In Galaxy 2, uhhh... well there isn't much of a storyline. As usual, Bowser steals peach, she helplessly does nothing to get away AGAIN, Mario takes another journey into space just to rescue her (Every time me and my family play a Mario game we all facepalm, sigh and/or go "AWWWW CMOONNNN" when peach gets stolen). Mario Galaxy 2 even started with the Starbit Festival the first Mario Galaxy started with. The only difference was that In MG2, the action started almost right away. Why this doesn't get just 3 stars for not being as original as the first one, is because I'll always love how Mario Galaxy is a bright and colorful game. There isn't a dull spot anywhere. It gets confusing occasionally having to run around a planet upside down. I bought this because I nearly cried when Mario Galaxy had no more for me to do (Er Go, I completed the whole game). I needed more of this game. I always have loved Yoshi and his eating habits, and I'm glad they decided to add him in MG2. If I felt better about the storyline, 5 stars, no questions asked. But I somehow felt as though I was playing Mario Galaxy 1 in the beginning.... Still, I appreciate how much Nintendo does for their customers. 4/5. 3Read full review
Such a fun game! It's is an amazing prequel to Mario Galaxy! The story is similar to the first game but, there's a lot to do. Also, there's a lot to do after you beat the game. Highly recommended game!
i’m glad i found it at such a great price, usually nintendo games run about $60. nothing wrong with the game all original packaging. i’m confused why it said no manual because the booklet/manual was in the case. but whatever.
