Great ol' vintage printer...
Indeed a great old printer, so much so in fact that I've just recently purchased two of them. I went back to running MS-DOS on an old 486 machine and wanted a printer with a parallel connection so as to be able to print out the report I needed, and this fit the bill perfectly. I wanted to get back into programming with dBase IV, and thankfully the printer driver was built in, so no worries there. I also purchase a simple parallel cable with a USB connector and attached it to my old Dell laptop and it recognized the printer immediately and worked wonderfully. So I'm indeed very happy with this printer. It works very well, the print quality is excellent (for what it is), and toner cartridges can be had for really cheap! I highly recommend it!

Laserjet Workhorse
This is a great basic everyday printer for fast reliable black and white printing. I bought this for home use to lower the per page cost since most of my printing doesn't require expensive color prints. One of the best features of this printer is the built-in jet direct card. I merely plugged the printer into my ethernet system as I would any device or computer, a little configuration to give it a tcp-ip address and now I can print to it from every computer in the house, (there are 4 ) plus any one coming over with wireless who can access my network. Additionally, I expanded the memory up to the full 40mb for less than $20 and this printer is capable now of 1200x1200 dpi prints. The printer has performed flawlessly for me so far and I have even found replacement toner cartridges on line for as little as $25. A real Bargain !!!Read full review

Fantastic printer and seller!
Printer works awesome. I had to buy an usb to parallel port adapter to use it with my USB Windows 7 but it was well worth it. The printer prints just as clear as a bell. Great deal! Got here really fast too.

very good for a used office machine
this printer needs a parallel port from the computer. the nice little usb adapters may not work, get an internal card for the computer then it will work like a champ even with win7 64bit version has the drivers built in, these things are good for over 150k pages made, mine was at 194k, they are a beast but parts are available and the 1200dpi is still standard, they are just slower

Great HP older printer!!!
I had one just like this that was having some issues and needed repair. The one I bought here cost LESS than the repairs would have. It arrived quickly with a power cord and looked brand new, which is pretty nice for such an old printer. It installed quickly using the previous printer's drivers and is working flawlessly. I am very pleased with this purchase.

Solid Printer
The printer itself is more than 10 years old, however it still runs real well. The newer monochrome LaserJets print at about 53 pages/min, this printer is much slower at about 10/min, but honestly that's fine in the environment it is set up in. (Non-profit office with 5 PC network) Don't hesitate, especially if you can get a great deal on it!
