An Italian director of horror films (legendary gore-direcor Lucio Fulci) finds himself the victim of a set-up after he begins to seek the help of a psychiatrist. Having exposed himself to so much horrific imagery, visions of depravity haunt the director's waking moments and dreams, which his psychiatrist cleverly uses as a cover story for his own bizarre murderous actions.
I am a huge Fulci fan, this movie isn't like the Beyond or Gates of Hell(City of the Living Dead)or many of his other films. But you can tell it is a Fulci film.
It's great how he plays himself and his violence from his other films plague him,due to a therapist convincing him that he is commiting violent murders(replicating murders from his movies). So there are "flashbacks" from his other films detailing the situation Mr. Fulci is in.
I was not disappointed at all by Cat in the Brain at all.I couldn't get enough and ended up watching two days in a row!I still can't get enough!
If you like gore then this is definatley a fun dvd for you.Gore and violence at it's best!
A Cat in the Brain DVD, 2009,Lenticular Deluxe Edition
One of Fulcis´s best.
Fulci plays himself as a victom for his own movies.
Fulci gets paranoid of making gore flicks, so he starts seeing a psychiatrist.
People around him gets murdered without explenation.
This edition has all availeble extras that you could probably find.
Most interesting is the Fangoria interview from 1996, less then 2 months before he died.
A must buy
One of Fulci's best. Interesting concept, the movie maker gets overwelmed by the violence of his own movies and may even be driven to murder and mayhem.
Lot's of extras and definitely a worthwhile view for Italian horror movie fans.
Amazing B-horror film for the collectors of the unusual! I'm glad I got this. Not very realistic but that's not what the collector necessarily looks for work these films.
