I love my new Gladius Macheti. It is so light, well balanced and is perfect for any sort of close up work, in a hall way, an aley, etc. In fact it should not be named Macheti. To me it is a perfect modern made Gladius. I love the handle too. It is very durable material and just right for big hands, non slip surface so no prob with sweaty hands. i wish y sabre handles were made of this.

Received the Cold Steel Gladius this afternoon. My excitement soon turned sour. Edge is dull and covered in that black protection.... absolutely no edge. The edge does not go the tip. Instead the last inch on each side is squared off with it coming to a pathetic, dull square point. Looks like I have a lot of work to do to get it to what it was advertised to be. Not happy.
