The BK 9 is a big knife--a full tang 9 inch blade. It is the perfect size to carry if you need to do any hacking or heavy duty work. It is large but not extremely heavy or unmanageable in length. Best of all, it is very well made--it is a bulletproof knife! Some complain about the sheath but it is functional and more than adequate; there are Kydex sheaths available if you want to customize the package. I like the rugged stock handles but there are aftermarket Micarda handles if you prefer something different. With the BK9, the old knife adage applies : "you can use a big knife on small cutting chores but you can't use a small knife of big projects" In summary, it is a great knife.
