Ever since I saw this dvd set as a fan of the show, I could never afford it, but I’m thankful I was eventually able to buy it myself, as I always loved the show. But for some reason the season 3 dvd came upside down, probably as a factory error, but it doesn’t matter, it’s alright. But just for the record the movie is not in this set, I already had it before buying this, but just to alert others that if they want the movie, they’ll have to buy it separately.

The first set we received skipped & froze throughout despite being brand new, factory sealed. Hoping the replacement works a little better. Expected a bit better quality considering the price. The cardboard holder is very thin & the graphics on the DVD cases look photocopied. Almost has a bootleg look to it. Despite the shortcomings my little one loves the Powerpuff Girls & had shown lots of patience through all of the skipping & freezing.

You know there is certain love one gets over owning a complete tv series on DVD. What a time we live in, it's hard to believe but there was once a time, when, if you missed an episode or the tv show was no longer on the air, well that's it, you missed it and all you can do is hope reruns will air one day. Now thanks to the awesome inventions known as DVDs, we can have our favorite tv shows whenever we want. So sorry perhaps I'm rumbling on a bit, I should of talking about the complete series of the Powerpuff Girls 10th Anniversary collection. I don't feel bad to say that I like this cartoon, I'm a huge cartoon lover and in my opinion this is one of the most underratted cartoons to came out of the 90s. I think it's one of the best of the 1990s, personally. Owning this cartoon set will be a welcome edition to any cartoon lover. To be fair, I haven't watched the whole thing yet, but what I've seen so far, I've enjoyed very much. That's not to say this DVD set is perfect though, it does have a few flaws. One thing that is very noticeable is when watching a season one cartoon, it's easy to see not much as been done in the way of remastering and restoring, basically you're watching a cartoon from 1998 and it feels like you're watching that 1998 cartoon, not too much better than a VHS copy of a season one PPG cartoon you or maybe you're little sister still has when it was bought brand new at your local K-Mart about ten years ago. Another flaw is the double-sided DVDs, those can be a total pain. But the special features such as funny shorts (including the original PPG believe it or not entitled "the Whoop-Ass girls"), music videos and the "Twas the Fight Before Christmas" special does make up for that somewhat. Still if you're a fan of animated, cartoon network, and the Powerpuff Girls or know someone who is and can't think of a great gift for him or her, than you can't go wrong buying this set. I for one feel it is worth every penny I spent on it and will enjoy it for a long time to come.Read full review
Being one of the dedicated and huge fans out there, I had to purchase this DVD set sooner or later, not only for myself but for all my daughters as well! And guess what? They just wouldn't stop watching the whole thing over and over again! This wonderfully packed 6-Disc set has all 78 episodes plus a few extras! To my surprise, it DOES have English subtitles which is a wonderful feature to have! Anyway, I am well aware that I couldn't have watched all episodes so this is a wonderful investment for all generations to come! I highly recommend this DVD set to all fans as well as non-fans! The following contains some spoilers: Although the day would be saved by the powerpuff girls most of the time, did you guys know that NOT all episodes are such cases? To our surprise and amusement, there are quite a few episodes that the day would be saved by other than the girls and sometimes the day would be ruined or even destroyed by the girls! And there are other times that the day would be destroyed by the villains! On one of the episodes, the girls are actually refusing to help the people of townsville(including the professor!) because they had enough! I am not gonna get into the details so that you guys would have to watch to find out what happens! And one of the other episodes, the townsville is being invaded by some weird-looking aliens and take a wild guess who's gonna save the day!Read full review
This is possibly the ultimate must by for any Powerpuff fan. Every episode is here, and majority look just as good as they did on television. Craig MaCracken was pure genius with the humour and super hero parody style he was aiming for in this show. Any kind of parody you may expect such as anime, 50s styled superhero shows, popular movies, and so on are delivered in some form in this show. You will appreciate when you can catch them. So the premise of the show is we have a professor of general sciences, named Professor Utonium, who was making up a concoction to "create perfect little girls", using ingredients of "sugar, spice and everything nice." During his experiment, he accidently knocks over a more formidable ingredient known as Chemical X, which causes an explosion and creates the Powerpuff Girls: Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup. Blossom is regarded as the leader and the smartest, Bubbles is considered the cutest and most sensitive, and Buttercup is perceived as the toughest and most willing to act. The professor realises eventually it was Chemical X that granted them powers and abilities akin to Superman such as super strength, laser eyes, and flying abilities. Their adventures take them around Townsville, where they take on villains such as Mojo Jojo, Him, Princess Morebucks, Gangreen Gang, and several others. I mention these, because they are the most recurring. This show makes every villain memorable, and I mean it. Every villain delivers such an amazing personality that you can't help but laugh at or admire their antics. E.g Mojo Jojo loves to ramble, Princess is possessive and spoilt, Gangreen Gang are purely gangsters, and Him...well...we will let the narrator tell you. A rare breed these days are comedic narrators, and the one on this show delivers so well. Every moment he speaks, you feel what he's saying. You can't help but think he thinks what you do. He will make fun of what happens in each episode to no end. And the mayor named...Mayor...yeah...boy does that guy go completely off the rails on the show. You wonder how he became mayor as you watch. And all this along with everyday life? Yikes. Now for the package: As soon as I received this, I just adored the cover, the DVD case covers, the included poster and seeing that each season was on one disc. What perplexed me though was the choice of not dual layer, but double sided DVDs, a rarely used format which can have issues if not handled more carefully than regular single-sided DVDs. Assuming each season has 13 episodes/dual episodes and each is roughly 20 minutes, and each episode would take 200MB, that would sum up to around 2.6GB, plus extra features which vary depending on the DVD you have. Regardless, each season doesn't take that much room even with the extra features. Extra features could take up to another 1GB at most, and I doubt any of them do. The discs do read well enough. I have had a few hiccups here and there, which forced me to skip 30 seconds of an episode, but otherwise, they all play fluently. Just ensure your DVD player is recent enough and has a decent laser and disc drive. What I did appreciate though was that nearly all the extra features relating to the show, such as unaired episodes, promos, bumpers, old advertisements, interviews and what-not, are on this disc. One important feature left out though, although it's expected, was the movie. This is sold seperately so it's no surprise. Rarely does a show include its movie counterpart.Read full review
My siblings and I grew up watching Powerpuff girls. When the box set came out we decided to pitch in and relive some of those fun childhood memories of Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup. We half expected the show to be much less entertaining and targeted toward a younger audience after all of the years since we last saw it. We were pleasantly suprised! The show is hilarious, adorable, and a whole lot of fun. It is clever and my siblings and I have had a lot of fun now understanding jokes we saw all those years ago. This box set is perfect for any past or present fans of the Powerpuff girls. It contains every episode! Plus you can find it for such a great price. Trust me, you will not be dissapointed!
What a great show! It's a blast from the past for me. The boxset was on the pricey side, but I have seen a cheaper one in the past, but hadn't jumped on the occasion to buy it. I still don't regret it at all! I loved that show and I'm super thrilled to own the complete series! It's a fun series about three little girls created by a scientist, and they have superpowers and save the world (or at least their city). It's an original show that's quite entertaining and fun! I recommend it to anyone who likes old-school (from the late 1990s/early 2000s) cartoons. *My review is for the original show and not the reboot.*

We are on Season 3 and loving the old Powerpuff Girls episodes. My boys (4 & 6 yr old) are loving it. We still watch the new ones, but the new ones on Cartoon Network have a lot of things that are over their head so we prefer this collection.
