I was a bit skeptical about buying this tripod because of the head. I own a Pro GT, which works fine but never cared for the head. This one seems like it would be about the same but after some field use of shed hunting, it works a little better. It's a bit tall broken down but that's fine as it stays strapped to the outside of my pack. It's light for how tall this is. I glass a lot sitting and standing. With the legs fully extended, it's too tall for me being 5' 10". I have to bring it down a little to use standing with binos and a spotter attached. It holds a 85mm Razor spotter well and it's stable. The quality feels great. I bought it for the weight and it's perfect. A lot lighter than the Pro GT.

The tripod does hold my heavy Swarovski well. Two things I would change on this tripod, first a longer panning handle - a couple inches longer would go a long way, and second, the panning head is based on a screw. So you need to loosen the head enough to be able to pan a full 180 degrees (or more) left to right. The more you loosen the screw, the more looseness or tilting of your scope and possible wobble.
