It works well just not if you plan on putting the metal inside your case for your phone. Tried on a couple different phone types and cases and never strong enough to hold it up though the case. If you don't the metal on your case on the outside, it'll work perfect
I really like the idea of magnetically held phones. I have a dashboard mounted product from the same brand that works really well, but it's a bit too far from my normal driving position. So I bought this thinking that I wouldn't have to stretch while driving to tap on things. Unfortunately, this simply doesn't stick to any grill. I've tried all possible vents near the driver, and the thing comes off with just the force of retrieving my phone. So it's languishing in the glove box now. I think I'll get another dashboard mounted unit and stick it to my CD player with double sided tape (or something like that).
Magnet is strong. Not strong enough to work through Otterbox if you want to use the option of placing the metal tag on the inside of the cover. Metal tag is very low profile though on outside of cover.
Attaching to the car vent was a little tricky as the rubber grips don’t hold very well unless you really twist the tightening screw very tightly. In doing this I was concerned I might break the plastic on the clip or on my vent. Recommend removing the phone from the magnet by gently sliding it off the holder. Pulling straight off can remove the clip from the vent due to the strong magnet (I like the strong magnet) and the rubber grip issue described above. Attach it as firmly as you can to the vent without breaking either piece for best result. I prefer a lever tightening mechanism to the screw mechanism of this one but it has performed very well once I was able to figure these tricks out.Read full review
Its so easy, just rest your phone on the platform and the strong magnets hold it in place. I did not need the magnetic plates it came with because my phone case already has a metal finger ring, it worked flawlessly.
I like that the mount does not block my air vent, there is free flow of air. The tightening screw is efficient to keep it in place. Although it rotates, it can be set firm enough as not to rotate, if you wish.
This is a good practical product that does what is expected of it.
Great car mount magnetic for cell phone. It holds well and shaped well. It has a mounting for the air vent that can be screwed down tightly when located and will not come loose.I have used it now for a week or so and still love the product. I am thinking of buying 2 more for other cars that I have.
