Though it can be expensive, the Nintendo Brand Memory cards as well as other authorized brands such as Nyko and Mad Catz work great for either the Nintendo GameCube or with the Nintendo Wii when playing GameCube games. I highly recommend only using one of these because a generic memory card (like most of those sold on eBay) can cause a LOT more headache than it is worth. IMPORTANT WARNING - The main issue with most generic, unbranded memory card is that they lack a grounding plate! Both Nintendo branded cards and off-brand cards have a grounding plate as an ungrounded memory module will cause a short and eventually DESTROY the electronics when plugged into the machine! THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS SITUATION AND MEASURES SHOULD BE TAKEN TO PREVENT FAKES FROM BEING SOLD ON EBAY! This warning is specifically regarding generic off-brand memory cards for the Nintendo GameCube (and to play GameCube games on the Wii). Compliant models will have a small metal plate on the back/bottom. If unsure ask the seller to provide a picture of both sides of the memory card before purchasing. First thing I did was check the memory card, and yes, it appears to be a 1019 card. Even though the PCB does not say Nintendo like a genuine memory card would, it does appear to work well However, I have not tested durability, nor if it actually saves all data yet. I will update this

Plenty of data for anyone trying to have a gamecube collection that is about 50 or less games. I use it to store 35 games, plus additional custom datas from other games, and I still have over 300 blocks left. This room could easily fit in more games, so people who want a modest sized gamecube collection, must buy.
