I hope the vinyl cover is long lasting. It is hard to tell, but it is soft and will repel any fluids that find themselves on the mattress. It is lightweight, which will make it easy to turn over and it feels really soft when you put weight on it. Good for Grandparents house
As a new Grandma I purchased this mattress for a crib that I have at our house for occasional overnight visits. This mattress will serve that purpose well. However, if this was the primary mattress for an infant, I would select a higher quality mattress.
