Great little mixer!
I do not cook very much,so I don't need a $100 or $200 machine. I also have used a cheap $10 and $15 hand mixer that kept wearing out. This mixer here is just what I needed. It has more power than most of those hand mixers,and it also comes with a great price tag. It also comes with a bowl, for those times when I can scrape the sides without stopping. One receptacle /portal to insert the attachments was broken
The item was promptly shipped, and likely this issue would have been resolved by the company had I tested it immediately upon receipt, but a small piece was broken inside of the gear unit that receives the attachments; as such, only one side is useable. Due to the broken piece, the unit could not securely hold the attachment on that side, and it kept falling out. Piece of junk
I don't know who wrote the reviews I read about this product. This mixer wasn't even able to handle a simple cake mix. All I really got out of this purchase was a stainless steel mixing bowl. The dough hooks and the whisk attachment are laughable. I tried to whip egg whites for a lemon meringue pie and I had to abandon this mixer for my hand mixer. The power to do most any mixing job one might have
After much research the Hamilton Beach 64650 6-Speed Classic Stand Mixer, was the best choice for me. The mixer is very versatile with the ability to become a hand mixer in addition to being a capable stand mixer. if your purpose for this mixer is to make bread three times a week this is probably not the mixer you are looking for. If on the other hand you are looking to mix cakes, muffins, dips and other light to medium types of mixing tasks this is a terrific value that every kitchen should have. Included in the box I received was a wire whisk, two standard type mixing tines and two bread mixing tines. The mixer would likely have the ability to make bread(s) provided the bread dough is not a heavy thick type of dough. Given the amount of power the motor produces I would be confident mixing a light bread dough perhaps even multiple times a week, however I would not put the motor up to a task the motor is not designed for. For heavy thick dough's a much larger motor at a much higher expense is required. if one puts the motor of this capable machine or any machine up to a task the motor is not designed for, the motor will fail. Common sense and taking the recommendations of the manufacture are very appropriate things to consider, much more so than the price.
