A very handy, well built gadget!
Light, sturdy,rigid. For my intended use, as a camera mount atop an equatorial star tracker (the superb Fornax Lightrack), this works exceedingly well! The rotating base allows RA adjustment, the first conical hinge give me declination. Once pointed at the desired patch of sky, the 2nd cone allows nearly complete rotation of the camera's FOV. This is far more flexible and convenient than using a ball head, which very often limits the camera's rotational aspect.

Bogen 3025 3-way tilt tripod head
I have been using two Bogen 3001 tripods with the 3025 heads on them for the last 25 years and the only problem I had was one of them the collar got worn and could not lock it into place to keep the camera from turning The new tripod works great and very happy with the equipment
