It is incredibly cheap. But the basic are there. The strings it comes with through the pickup are so bright as to be almost unusable. The chances of it being knocked out of wack in shipping are precarious. But mine came in great shape and was easily playable, and with a lot of bass eg and treble cut I got it to sound acoustic through a little amp. Acoustically is was really midrange but I think with some warmer more complex strings, half the value of the viol cost, it would be better. One often needs an instrument of little value for performances in questionable circumstances, this one will do fine.

Cheap. Bad sound. Pegs slip so much it won't stay in tune. Stay away.

Even with the stock strings it sounds much better than my Mendini MVN400 strung with Dominants. The electronics work well. It stays in tune. I love this violin! The only thing I didn't like was the shoulder rest, which is pretty worthless.
