My father told me about fire support from the battleship Texas when he landed in Normandy during the invasion of France in June 1944, so I plan to build the model in that configuration. The model is well done and the many parts should simply glue together with little problem, but my goal will require a great deal more work. The hull needs major sanding and surgery to make it accurate. There are websites that show what must be done, but my ability may not be up to that task. Additionally, the paint scheme and rigging require considerable research beyond the information provided in the kit. In sum, inexperienced modelers should find a simpler project to do first; experienced modelers will find this kit a satisfactory challenge but should expect to do a great deal of research and work to make the end product accurate. For both, the kit has lots and lots and lots of little parts.Read full review

only problem is that instructions should have been easier to understand, more exploded drawings would have been more helpful
