This ocarina was recommended to me by someone who had the same one. I heard them play and I was satisfied with the overall quality of sound so I decided to order one. Now, by all means I am no ocarina expert (matter of fact, I've been eyeing various wind instruments but decided to settle on an ocarina because it sounds fun and it's small (and thus easily portable). I ordered this on the 2nd of Dec and got it today (17th Dec), the packaging was very good (bubble wrap around box itself). In the box itself, the ocarina was kept in the bag included in the photos and along with it there's a two-page leaflet in Japanese, which you can fax or send by mail to Night with instructions - I'm not sure if it's for warranty or not. The ocarina itself is made of plastic with a nice, smooth, rubbery finish. The sound is good, I might not be able to play it but I can recommend based on the overall quality as well as hearing other people who are much more experienced than me play it. My only wish is that the ocarina itself came with some sheets for beginner tunes, but the instructions on the back of the box is still something and teaches you how to play the notes within it's range.
