I use this to wash my elderly mother's hair. She can't sit at the sink so someone stands behind her in the wheelchair with a bucket to catch the water. The Betty Dain hair funnel has helped tremendously by directing the water into the bucket and not getting all over the floor. Thank you for a good product.

While in theory this seems like a good idea, we didn't find this thing to work well at all. First of all the elastic around the head is very short, making it hard to stretch around the head. Then the velcro is very long..which means the prickly part is very long...which means it stabs into the head, leaving marks and is unbearably uncomfortable. When we finally got it on there, it was so tight, my sister said her head was being squished (she does NOT have a big head). Because of where it sits, you cannot wash the hair at the hairline so there's that, too. Then, when I dumped a cup of water over her.....it leaked all through where the elastic was...wetting her just as bad as having nothing. So in the garbage it went. I think if you have a tiny head and no hair, this would be ideal for you. Otherwise, skip it and just carefully pour water out of a cup when the person is leaning back. I bought this in order to be able to wash my elderly mom’s hair at the sink. Basically it works like it’s supposed to but with a few shortcomings. First of all, it fits too tight around the head. Very uncomfortable, even on my mother’s small head. (I fastened it around a small jug for a few days to stretch it out.) The second problem is that it’s a tad shorter than it should be. The tail of this product hangs in the sink, but if my mom bows or turns her head even a little bit, there’s water all over. I have to keep reminding her to sit still. And thirdly, once this product is fastened around the head, it can be a little difficult to get shampoo close to the elastic. It takes extra effort. Despite the shortcomings of this product, I like it because I can wash my mom’s hair without her having to stand and bend over the sink. She can sit down and the job gets done!!!!Read full review

What worked is that it provided a barrier between that open space between the chair in the shampoo bowl- what didn't work is that it was a little uncomfortable around my customers neck. I also had to cut the funnel open a little bit to make sure the hair and the water was going down the middle of the funnel and not over the sides.
