I sharpened this case knife for the reason of wrapping Christmas gifts. I wouldn't normally carry a pocket knife of this size. I personally carry a medium stockman. The length of this trapper blades I find to be useful when slicing wrapping paper. I am old fashion when it comes to sharpening blades, I love using different grit stones and finishing with an old razor strap to ensure there are no nitches any where along the blade . Many years ago, I had one like this. I was a young fellow and I remember walking into Island Creek Coal Company store, in West Virginia and falling in love immediately.
