This device does exactly what it should: supplies 48 volt phantom power in a battery-powered portable device. My Zoom H6 recorder has an input for each of six tracks, but only supplies phantom power to four of those. The Rolls PB224 adds phantom power for the two other inputs when I attach the Zoom EXH-6 XLR adapter. My only quibble is that the DC power input connector uses a coaxial design with the center conductor made negative instead of the more common approach in which it is positive. This is a minor issue that is easy to address. Moreover, I usually employ batteries for added portability.
