CD quality to CD quality. Fast digital recording and regular speed for analog. It will record automatically and when fi dishes takes a minute and 4 seconds to finalize it and it ready to use. I love it. This makes my second one.

i bought this years ago. I used it quite a bit. the sound quality is very average. the recording ability is average at best. also, you really need a manual and a remote control to figure how to automatically dub out of order random tracks of a CD and it will only record at "Fast" speed if you dub the entire CD. the drawer began sticking and/or not working after only a few years of use. a relatively simple belt change fixed that issue. i actually used a small O-ring from the hardware store. i upgraded to a Teac unit and the sound quality improvement was immediate! the ease of use and recording sound quality was much much better on the Teac aswell. the build quality is ok. i would not recommend this one for neither a novice or an audiophile. Lot's of better units out there then this one.

PERFECT UNIT FOR ANYONE WANTING TO PUT OLD LPs OR TAPES ON CD. HOOKS UP TO ANY TAPE INPUT OUTPUT RCA JACKS. RECORDING QUALITY IS EXCELLENT AS THE UNIT LEAVES MUCH OF THE SOUND QUALITY OF LPs INTACT. WITH BOTH ANALOG AND DIGITAL INPUTS YOU CANT GO WRONG. I HAVE USED THE SAME MACHINE 5 YEARS TRANSFERING OVER 1000 ALBUMS WITH NO ISSUES. IF THERE IS A DOWN SIDE THIS MACHINE ONLY RECORDS ONTO MUSIC CDR CDs. NO PROBLEM GETTING THEM CHEAP AT LOCAL STORES, OR YOU CAN PURCHASE ON EBAY AT A GREAT PRICE.
I have had mine over 20 plus years. The left tray player no longer works. No one has parts to repair same...that being said I can record with the right tray the recording tray. I can duplicate from cassettes or from computer....I no longer make cds..I have already completed all my vinyl collection...and cassettes.

I had one of these recorders before & they are just great, I'm happy with it! The one I had before, I recorded 1000s of CDs. I don't know what else to say about it, it certainly does everything I expect from it. I am a musicain, I put music on a Roland recording unit. From there I send the songs into the Sony for the CD I'm making. I have recorded 9 CDs,titled under my name Jimmy Jenson.
This unit does not work. The B side door is not functional, and does not record.
