The Infocus LP 640 (AKA Proxima C180) is one of the best LCD projectors in it's class in my opinion. These are 2200 Lumen projectors that are bright, give great color reproduction and are as good at producing video images and photos as they are computer images. Much better than a DLP when it comes to the above mentioned atributes. On ebay these projectors can be purchased for $150 to $350 and as I said are much better projectors than many higher priced and new DLP projectors.
I included both because they are essentially the same except for the 640 having a vga in and a network interface. In my repair of these and comparisons with others I find that these are still much better in correct color display than all of the LED lamp projectors I have tested. The lumen output on these compared to power used isn't that bad at 250w. Many led projectors claiming 1500 lumens or more start at around 100watts just to power it. The unfortunate thing with these is the bulbs, but you can get some real good ones for about $30. In my experience a tv is made to run long hours while a projector is made for short term viewing because it can create a lot of heat and it can breath in lots of dust(that includes dlp tv's). I was looking for a bright projector that works both front & rear projection in dark or lighted rooms that was easy to use. The InFocus LP640 fits my needs perfectly. I shopped around for several months before purchasing a used projector. This unit has far exceeded my exspectations. Connected a laptop with Windows XP and it worked without downloading drivers or any programing. My unit did not have a remote but I have just purchased one and can't wait to see how it works. Replacement bulbs can be found at a great price. I paid less than $60 for a new factory replacement bulb to have as a spare. The projector is light weight and packs easily into a medium size metal tool case. The person I purchased from included his case with it. I would definitely make this purchase again.
The Infocus LP640 (AKA Proxima C180) is a great general purpose projector. I am using one for high definition television watching on a 100 inch screen and it does a great job! All my friends are impressed when they come over and see how clear and bright the picture is. For under $400 used on eBay, this projector is an amazing deal. Don’t spend hundreds or thousands more on any other projector. In my opinion, the LP640 and LP540 LCD projectors produce a much richer and more colorful image compared to DLP projectors. Whether you are going to use it for HD video, power point presentations, back yard movie nights, or in you bar or club, this projector will not disappoint you. I highly recommend this projector!
I bought this projector because I sell tecnological items. Althouht this a great brand: InFocus. I can find the replacement parts because it is a very commercial brand in ebay and famous around the World. You can compare this projector using the time life of its lamp (over 2500 hours) Yous can compare the native resolution of it: 1024x768. Youn can compare it brightness (3000 lumens). It has many options to connect other devices and has the cables to do it.
