Works on my non-Apple laptops. May not be suitable for some MacBooks or iMacs. This pair of 4GB DDR3 modules may be appropriate for your older generation laptop computers. It installed and worked properly on certain Toshiba and Dell Windows laptops from the year 2012. And so I was happy with my purchase. Even though the specifications were correct for my MacBook, this was NOT the appropriate memory configuration for a mid-2011 Apple MacBook Pro or a mid-2010 Apple iMac (which takes the same pair of type DDR3 memory). Curiuously, if I removed all RAM and installed only a single DDR3 PC3L-12800 module in either Apple they would both boot up and operate with 4GB of RAM. A pair of modules or more would fail in the same Apple laptop or Apple desktop. My advice is to be certain of your device requirements before buying any mail-order memory. No issues at all with Hynix SO-DIMMs, OEM's use them in new laptops and they are a quality product. Was already running one of these Hynix 4GB modules in my ASRock Q1900-ITX motherboard, so bought another to upgrade to 8GB total memory. Now Linux is using zero swap space on my drive. Sweet!

Performed just as well as some other expensive name brand RAM for less than half the price.
