Deceptive, but definitely of interest.
A roaring good story, well acted, well written, and with a very modern feel to it.
Nonetheless, still can't get over the so many I see of gay male film characters, with no decent physiques to speak of -- (not that everyone should be a Chippendale's wonder, but they should at least have attractive bodies, or why bother to even want to go to bed with each other?) -- and then, even so, after they turn out to be so convincingly "into each other," we find that in real life they are all straight, and have presented the truth of their characters as totally false!! I mean, I love to see these guys in love with each other, and that's what I seek in life. But if it's all a "fiction," and such relationships don't exist, what's the point? Because most of the gay men I run into are all as shallow as pie tins, and just as substantial; all they seem to want is sex, and "relationship" is like a foreign word to them. What gives? So while such films are gratingly hitting the edge of that's what I want, it doesn't really seem to exist. It's all a fairy tale.Read full review
