IT WORKS!!!
I bought the slightly used keyfob thinking I could program it myself. Tried several times doing the chicken dance with no luck. Each time the doors cycled the locks TWICE instead of once which I found means it will not program. After buying the new keyfob I was able to program it on first try. Prius keyfob successfully programmed to start engine & lock/unlock doors remotely
Received the keyfob in short time. Tried unsuccessfully 6 times to program it using several online tutorial videos. . Then I tried to reprogram a leftover Prius fob from older totaled car & IT WORKED first time. . Then, tried again to program the fob I purchased on eBay and it WORKED!!!! I have no idea why the 7th time it was successful. . I've read in several places - "perseverance furthers." This OEM Toyota Replacement Key. At least, I didn't not find any difference from my old key. By following online instructions, I was able to program the key myself. I wish Toyota made the bottoms more durable; everybody I know, have same problem warned out bottoms in just few years. didnt have to go to the dealer for my 2008 prius.....there is a great you tube tutorial how to do it called "Gen 2 Toyota Prius Smart Key Programming (chicken dance) 2004-2009" on you tube. there are 2 things you have to to do, first program the key to work and then get the smart features to work, shown in the vid. Then it costs about 10 bucks or less to get the mechanical key made at a locksmith. Saved lots of money not going to dealer.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Perfect Replacement
I have a 2007 Prius with the Smart Key System (SKS) and this was the perfect replacement for my original key fob. My original key fob was still functional but starting to fall apart..didn’t know how long it would keep working! Since it was still functional, I was able to successfully program the new one and it works great! Get this new one BEFORE your old one stops functioning!
