Product Information

Combining the player-directed team warfare of an MMORPG with the fast-paced competition of a first-person shooter, and the realism of an accurate historical setting with forgiving arcade-style action, Battlefield Vietnam follows the same basic battle plans as its winning 2002 predecessor, Battlefield 1942. The follow-up allows as many as 64 players to join and battle together online, across the land, sea, and skies of a virtual Vietnam. Recruits choose to fight for the United States or the North Vietnamese Army as one of five basic soldier types, each appropriate for a different selection of era-authentic weaponry.

Drivable vehicles include jet fighters, helicopters, tanks, trucks, and Jeeps, and passengers can now fire weapons while on board. A cross-section of popular music from the era, including singles by Credence Clearwater Revival, Jefferson Airplane, and the Kingsmen, can be played in-game on the car and truck radios, and will be heard by other players as these vehicles pass them. Users can also import and listen to customized .mp3 soundtracks (though only on their own computers).

The most immediately obvious difference between Vietnam and 1942 may be the games' environments. Battlefield Vietnam levels feature the country's thick, jungle landscapes, which can have a great effect on line-of-sight, cover, and tactics, as well as on the game's overall look. Many credit community support, including fan-made mods and even game-engine rendered "machinima" movies, with contributing to the success of the original 1942. This Vietnam sequel ships with all the basic map and mission editing tools in place.

Battlefield Vietnam
Battlefield Vietnam has some awsome helicopter combat situations in it and is why I purchased the game. I am a rated helicopter pilot and these helicopters respond as helicopters do when flying hard and dirty. While you do use the keyboard the mind controls the actions and this game fullfils the same exciting thrill as flying the real thing except when you push outside the envelope it doesn't cost you life or limb or even an interview with the NTSB. Great circa late sixties music too. Awsome!

This One Is On My Christmas List And Could Be Upgraded!
Since I haven't played it yet though, will leave it at Good. But I do know it will be Good or it wouldn't be on my List! There aren't enough good Nam based Strategy and Shooters out there and so this is a welcome Title in my book. Battlefield Vietnam..A game that follows the conflicts that was the Vietnam war. This has got to be THE GREATEST multiplayer military game of all time second to none.The ONLY game that has a sound track of all songs that were popular back in the 60's.Done by the original artists CCR,The Box Tops,Deep Purple,Rare Earth just to name a few.Spending hours powning your friends to period music is nothing when you get involved in this game.Drive tanks,fly choppers,fly jets,and use the artillery.Beautiful graphics that just makes you want more.You will not know the fun until you've opened the game thew it in the drive and fired this mother up.Single player,Multiplayer the fun is just waiting.Also PC requirements are not that bad so even people with a soso PC can play the game. SO DON'T WAIT!...GET ON EBAY NOW AND FIND THIS GAME AND TRUST ME YOU WON'T BE SORRY.Read full review

Brilliant game, reccomend to anyone. The gameplay is emersive and the different battles, weapons and vehicles make this game a must have. Brilliant fun for a small price, just as good as any new games on the market. I couldn't find fault with this game. i had previously played this at a friends house and now i am over the moon that i can play this amazing game whenever i like. A must have to anyone who enjoys gaming.

Fun, cheap, and loads of playtime before you get sick of it
If you like Battlefield 1942, or any of it's MOD's like Desert Combat Final then you will like Battlefield Vietnam. This game runs great on older pc's without the need for massive amounts of memory or cpu/gpu power. There is a ton of fun vehicles and weapons to play with and many multi-player maps to play online. A+! thumbs up!
