This is an excellent turntable for the money. It has bulk, 33lbs. and this adds to the isolation from vibrations. It can accommodate any type of cartridge with the easy detached head shell. This should last me a lifetime.

This is a refurbished item (saved money). It's a DJ Pro turntable. I'll never use it as such but I love it. The dust cover was broken in transit but a replacement is on it's way. This thing is HEAVY! I have 2 cartridges, Shure M97XE and Ortofon 2m Red. The Shure is the real winner. I get NO bass feedback with that cartridge on this turntable (I have 2 subwoofers in my living room). The Ortofon starts building hum (bass feed back) one you go above "normal" listening volume level.

This is one of the best "new wave" vinyl record players. Since DENON stopped making broadcast quality turntables, and Matsushita Electric (Panasonic / Technics) only makes one model that is broadcast quality, this is one of the best of the "new wave". It isn't up to the standards of the DP-3000, DP-5000, DP-6000, etc. from DENON, but those turntables must be bought used. They had stainless and bronze bearings that would last a lifetime, and motors that didn't have to brag about their torque; they met RIAA broadcast spec for torque and startup. If you don't want to take a chance on a used DENON, and don't have the money for a brand new Technics, this is pretty much your only affordable choice.
