This little machine is light weight, super easy to use/learn, fun and entertaining. The only problem is finding the thread. But, it is out there. So don't hesitate to purchase this little item if you are looking for fun. Items it can make are so useful in so many ways such as buttons, pins, appliques for clothing, caps, and so much more.

For starters Brother wasn't impressed enough to keep making them, and the replacement consumables. I bought one because it seemed simple, which it is, however, when I went to make something using more than one color, the second or additional colors were not positioned accurately. Some of the Disney designs especially were off, and the color orders were really wrong. I will probably use it for monograms and simple designs, but don't trust it for Disney multicolor accuracy. If you don't attach the iron on piece, the fabric curls up. Too many are out there asking for more $ than it is worth. Personally, I think getting a beginner embroidery only machine would have been money better spent. There is no other gadget on the market now even close to it.

This is a very simple embroidery machine that is no longer in production. Only requires two different items to make it work 1): prefilled thread cartridges. It can be challenging to find replacement thread: prices can vary from $3.00-$10.00 for each depending on which of the 14 colors you are looking for. 2) precut fabric design sheets with adhesive backing. These come in 3 colors: beige, grey, and white: packages of 10-25. Again, research is needed to find them. Prices can range from $4.99- $25.99 per pkg. No warranty or support is expressed from manufacturer. Once understanding of system is made; this system makes approximately 3-3 1/2" very cute applique. This system is self threading, but sometimes manual threading must be done and it is tedious job. Most choices are of a disney nature. I like it for the fact it functions as a starter system to embroidery. I wish Brother would have continued to produce it with more options.Read full review
The little machine sits there and sews great. However, I can't find anyone selling the thread new except on Amazon and Ebay. Most of the time they are around $10.00 per color. I can't find the packs of cloth - backing or anything for sale brand new. I love the machine and its abilities but I would love to find new stuff that is affordable. I can't find pattern cards for it either. I have no problems with the machine at all but the stuff that goes with it is history. My grandson is wanting to be a policeman and I made him a "badge" with his name on it and he had a fit over it. I am going to be making Christmas ornaments also. Love it!

Fun little machine that is easy to use, consistent and great quality embroidery for children. You need to purchase products from Brother such as the thread cartridges and backing material. I found that I could cut my own backing using drapery blackout lining, punch my holes in it and it works great! I purchased this product used so the price was right!
I purchased this so I could make appliques to put on childrens clothing. It's easy to use, and not having any embroidery experience led to my purchase. Turn an ordinary t-shirt into a nice disney t-shirt for a fraction of the cost. This can be done by younger children also since the needles are not exposed. Safe, easy, and fun to use. The ease of use is better, and safer compared to the larger embroidery machines. It's lightweight and can be carried wherever you go. The heavier embroidery machines can't be carried around without a struggle. This machine takes up very little space too, and changing the cartridges is fast. You just snap them into place, and there are no needles to thread.
I got a very good deal on this and have made a few appliques. Now there is no way to get the fabric squares for the applique or the threads as they are no longer being made. It was such a good idea but I guess the embroidery machines have come down in price and this just doesn't make a lot of sense. Still it is nice to have an applique that you can easily apply as opposed to machine embroidering in tight areas.

I love that it is very easy. My six year old loves to sew out patterns and change the thread. We have fun together sewing out her favorite Disney Characters. I don't like that you have to embroider on special fabric sheets that you have to buy from Brother. They are pretty expensive. Once you have your design sewn, it is hard to find something to do with it. The design is pretty thick and now needs to be cut out and sewn onto the garment. This requires some serious talent to make it look nice. You cannot embroider directly onto the item that you want your design on.
I love the ease of use. Hate that it has limited sizes. Can only use cassette thread which is easier bought on-line than trying to fine locally. Love the fact that so many vendors are on E-Bay or I wouldn't have bought it. I knew what I was buying so I wasn't disappointed. Gets the job done! Price was reasonable.
Great little machine very easy to use and does a good job with the embroidery. My daughter used it and found it to be very easy as well. The fabric and thread are hard to find since this machine has been discountinued. I did find some on E-Bay I don't what I will do when that's gone.
