Seiko "55 Fathoms"
So called because the case shape is like the Blancpain 50 Fathoms, this watch is staggeringly beautiful to my eyes as it is. People buy them to mod them, put new dials on, sapphire glass and upgrade the movement. I could spend the same again making it look like something it isn't. The 7s26 movement has powered some legendary Seiko watches. It kind of hacks if you apply gentle back pressure on the winder when setting the time. It's an automatic so why do you need to mind it. It's not going to be quartz accurate so why worry that the 4R36 movement is slightly more accurate day to day. Do a time check every day, no problem. The dial and markings are gorgeous. I don't even think about I'm going to mess about with it, just a light polish with some brasso and a lightly used watch will be as new. It might not suit anyone with a wrist size of less than 7" so bear that in mind and find somewhere you can try for size first.
