Worth the Price!
As portable and powerful as you can get with SSB and AIR. More features would be nice to make it the best imaginable, but that would incur costs. Only complaints: Can’t set clock while listening to WWV; buttons not lighted, but display is; external antenna should be longer and with clip (but I didn’t even know it had one included); and battery lasts only one day if used continuously—but fast re-charging. Great radio!
The XHDATA D-808 gets really long range reception, but its a little tricky to use. If you know and understand the various shortwave bands you will have an easy time tuning in the channels you want- I had to do a bit of research to figure out the bands. Works as advertised! This little radio is packed full of features and is among the best values in shortwave listening. It uses the same DSP chip found in most Tecsun and Eton radios. Hard to imagine a portable radio this sensitive using its telescopic antenna, put it beside my sdr on a active loop and it picks up same stations,abiet not as well,but that would be asking too much.
