I bought a set of the Cuisinart Advantage knives as a gift for my wife. Our old set of knives was incomplete and wearing out ...and most of the edges were getting dull. This set is perfect for out kitchen! Color coded, very sharp and easy to use and clean. We've been using them now for about a month or so and we both love these knives. Our son, who is 29, cooks in his apartment to save money....and we're going to get a set for him to use. We don't think you can find a better set of knives at anywhere near the low price of this one. Get a set and you'll see what we're talking about. A great product at an affordable price!
Like that this set comes with blade guards and NO storage block
We already have several knife sets. Each has its own wooden storage block that seems like a great idea at first. But then, the blocks take up too much counter space and who knows what bacteria is in those "slots". At one point, my wife took all of the knives out of their blocks and put in a drawer. In addition to cutting yourself when getting a knife, you should not store knives so that their blades can rub together. So, the knives were restored to their blocks.
For the price and Cuisinart brand name, I purchased this set. Since each knife comes with a guard that completely covers the blade, there isn't a cutting or blade rubbing hazard. No block to add to your counter top. Rather than just "throw" the knives in a drawer, I was able to 3D print a simple holder that fit in a drawer and allowed easy access to any of the knives.
The knives work well. I don't know yet how long they will cut efficiently before they need sharpening. We also like the modern colors and variety of knife types.Read full review
The 12 pc knife set is great. I was kind of worried when I first ordered them because you never know what you will get when you order somthing online. When I got the box, I noticed that they packed it very good. There was no bends in the box and it looked like it didn't move. The weight of the knives is good. There nice and sharp. The colors look good and makes them look nice. There easy to clean and for the price, make cutting, dicing and chopping a breeze. I use the knives on steaks (frozen),chopping corn husks and they held up to the task like champs. One of the only concerns I have is when I comes time to sharpen them. I wonder how well the coating will handle this ? I guess we will cross that bridge when we get there. The other is more of a complaint, the shipping. Took ALONG time to get it. I must mention that the company that sold me the knives was not to blame on this one. I think that all in all they are great knives for the price and will handle what you throw at them.Read full review
This set turned out to be a gift to my wife who had struggled with our old worn out knives long enough. I found this set and thought, why not. What a great price and Cuisinart is a brand name I have used for years. They turned out to be great knives and we are both well pleased. Even the color coding is nice, as we can at just the choice of a color, have the knife we want for the job we want to use it for. They seem to stay sharp as well. I have not tried to sharpen any yet, as they don't seem to need it. So far, we are very pleased and with the great price we found on Ebay, we are very happy with our purchase.
