This tray is exactly what I was looking for. The stock battery hold down piece isn’t the greatest design. Taking my LiPo in and out would wear down the sides of the LiPo from the plastic sliding against it. The straps eliminate this issue! The whole kit has everything you need to make it work. And you can use different battery brands besides Traxxas. To mount the tray, you DO have to drill 4 holes in the chassis.. BUT, if you don’t want to drill, you might be able to use some kind of sticky tape or bonding adhesive with the provided spacers to avoid drilling into the chassis. I’m very happy with this product. Someone else’s review gave 1 star.. But they’re using it in an X Maxx🤷🏼♂️ They didn’t read the description lol

These fit well in my xmaxx (once I remove the foams). I tried 3D printed ones prior to these and they shattered during the second bash session. The straps that come with these are cheap and likely not very good, I won't be using them. I do have an issue with the plates though. The areas where the straps go through (the holes on the ends and the notches on the sides) have super sharp edges. They should have been rounded or something. If I leave them as they are, they are going to cut most straps pretty easily. The only ones that may hold up to it are the woven kevlar straps. Unfortunately, I don't have any of those long enough to use. So I'm going to have to try and round the edges for the holes I'm going to use with a dremel.

Obviously with the X-Maxx most of us buy additional battery types and prefer to swap over to a Velcro/Strap style setup. So doing just that, I went with these bad boys, the Aluminum Plates are Great Quality with chamfered holes, no sharp edges And multiple strap options. (Good hardware as well.) But do yourself a favor and get a better quality strap. The supplied straps are weaker than Sleepy Joe; and like him they need to be replaced. Seriously; 5 min after installing and bashing I had both straps say to my batteries…. “Eject-o Seat-o CUZ!”

It was exactly as described. The Velcro strap is a little long but I wasn’t planning to use it anyway. Will do business with again.

The straps are week. If you have some extra tow straps, cut them and use them!! Mine didn't fail but with other reviews commenting on them. I figured since I run at 60+ mph Very HD straps are the only ones acceptable, in my opinion. I did reuse the straps on a smaller RC and I have had no issues with anything, except the black screws do rust, go SS!

The aluminum battery trays are a great fit on Xmaxx , you can also add vertical Velcro strips for extra hold. The tray has cutouts for vertical as for horizontal Velcro mounting strips.

The installation was not easy because getting the spacers and trays to line up after drilling holes was a challenge. If the spacers were attached to the tray it would have been easier. The straps are strong but the buckle on one of the straps broke, I replaced it with a metal D ring.

The plastic clasps on the battery straps broke on the first run. The truck rolled over on flat grass (as the xmaxx is prone to do), the clasps broke, and the batteries flew out. This product is NOT worth the money.

Fits, seems solid. However don’t expect to run these with anything other than belted or hard mounted tires as any moderate tire expansion will shred the rear tires on aluminum plates INSTANTLY! Set of grp wheels/tires or dboons hoons are a must!

Tray is nice, but straps didn't last the 1st outing, if you plan to do any amount of jumping i'd recommend buying a different set of straps with this tray, both of mine broke before my batteries even went dead.
