don't waste your $ on this capstar stuff. No good. I had no idea it only works for couple days, then dogs are back to major fleas. Does not even kill flea eggs! Get Advantix II it kills fleas, eggs, & mosqitoes which now are rampant.

My Vet recommended this product for use on my 2 cats and 2 kittens. The cats are Maine Coons and normal flea stuff doesn't work on them. If you use this product at the first sign of a flea it's quite effective. Remember- fleas spend only a tiny bit of their time on your animal- and are otherwise in your yard, furniture, carpets- BUT fleas must generally eat about once every 12 hours- so a couple days of Capstar can significantly help. You may need to go with a longer lasting topical product. Ask you vet. And you do need to thoroughly wash pet bedding and vacuum furniture & rugs.
