Excellent, very fast CPU. If you know what you're doing and have right motherboard, you can reliably overclock this CPU from the base clock of 3.7 Ghz to 5.2 Ghz.
The Intel processors have a lower latency in nanoseconds compared to AMD processors. The Intel processors are faster for gaming and desktop applications, compared to AMD Ryzen. The only area where Ryzen processors perform better is in multicore encoding, which is something that is better performed by dedicated hardware.
For everyday desktop applications and gaming, you're better off with an Intel processor.
The i5 9600K overclocks to within 2% of the i9 9900K, so it's an excellent value.
This 6 core processor is excellent it was easy to install in only minutes from unboxing to running. The i5 speed combined with 6 cores makes this a good alternative to the pricier i7 and i9 and not much lost in speed. It is a good high mid solution for gaming and graphic design works great and would buy again.
I decided to upgrade my desk top computer to a little more up to date, so I purchase this processor because it could be overclocked and it have a graphic interface. Got my new motherboard two days ago so I start rebuilding my system and fire it up and WOW!!! This thing was awesome running at 4.7 GHz.
Great CPU, works well, just as eady to install as previous 8th gen intel.
Overclocks to 5ghz pretty much instantly, you will need to increase voltage for stability for sure but this chip is really cool under load with any standard prefilled 50$ liquid coolers.
Has overall same or better gaming performance than all other top CPUs in the world right now at a much friendlier price!
I had no changes using this after 6600k skylake. But when I tried Assasins creed bench, I went from 30 to 45 fps. It is sad that prices ju mped up so high. Skylake cost me 200 and this one was 260, but at least I was able to get it without tacks. If this goes on, this will be my last Intel CPU because the price of AMD cpu plus mobo goes about 30% cheaper on average for a very similar set.
