Been using the same “Mazer Blue” mouse for 5 years now and, although it still works great, I needed something with better feeling buttons and I liked the idea of being able to adjust so much about how the Rival 310 performs via the SteelSeries software so I decided to get one. This thing is dope. Out of the box, it works perfectly, but you can fine tune it to your preferences using the SteelSeries engine. Sure, you can set two preset sensitivities that toggle with the click of a center button on the mouse, but another game changer is angle smoothing: this let’s you essentially tell the mouse “if I’m moving horizontally with the mouse, ignore slight vertical movements to a certain extent”. I can see why this might be huge to some FPS players, but personally I dont use it bc I felt like it would take too much time to get used to. Anyway, this is a super well-priced mouse and I highly recommend it to somewhat novice-intermediate FPS gamers like myself.Read full review

I am pro freelancer writes objective accounts for gaming gears. I am also a frequent dota 2 player. To be honest, Rival 300 is a really disappointing item from SteelSeries. But this mouse is kinda much better than 300, coz the grip is much better, not that easy to run out. I did not get the detail of 1 to 1 sensor, but it is a little slower than normal mouses since its sensor is much advanced.

This mouse got a very good review on a tech-heavy site that actually tested it against the alternatives, especially for ergonomics (right-handed) and resilience (the buttons don't wear out). To that I would add the long, flexible cord and pleasant feel of the surface. My previous mouse was also a Steelseries but after a decade of heavy daily use and abuse it started to fail. This mouse has two flaws to consider: 1. There's a VERY bright lighted logo on the side that faces the user, which I found distracting when my hand wasn't actually on the mouse. I covered this up with electrician's tape, which somewhat changes the feel of it in my hand, so the continued impact was minor. Later I found a way to turn this lighting off; that was satisfactory but hard to find in the SteelSeries Engine. 2. My old gaming mouse had a couple of buttons on the right that I could compress with my ring finger, and that was very convenient for programming common actions triggered by E or F in games. This mouse has two thumb buttons plus the normal three up front and a fourth on top like the old one. My ring finger still twitches at times because that's wired into my brain for talking to an NPC or picking up an object, but I'll get over it. Most people would find this one has enough buttons, but I've seen them with a lot more. A lot depends on your keyboard; I have the Merc Stealth keyboard with a gaming keypad on the left, so I don't need a mouse with six extra buttons. Overall, I think the average gamer will find this mouse very satisfactory!Read full review

I had been using smaller mice for CS:GO so I can play using a claw grip. However, I gave this one a try as my larger fingers/hands were hitting the Mouse4/5 buttons when shooting. I have been more than pleased with the results. This mouse has plenty of room for my thumb, and I actually enjoy using the mostly palm grip style. The grips on both side of the mouse are also very welcome. Couldnt recommend this mouse any more.
