Both sides work well and it is the perfect size to do small knives or large blades. I’m glad I bought it

Sharpening & Honing Stone 6 inch Aluminum Oxide dual grit for Quality Steel Blades. If you are an Expert with a stone this is probably a good tool for You ! For me, however, it's a good way to make a Sharp knife Dull in a Hurry ! The Stone is not long enough to allow Me to use it like a File which is the Only way I could get a knife sharp with it ! The stone FEELS as though it's getting Concave in the center with use so the Edges of it seem to scrape away the Sharpness of the Blade as I put it on. I think I have rambled on enough. I will close by saying, simply, that I DO NOT recommend this tool for Anyone but an Expert for Sharpening Good Blades ! LesB

For a low cost set of stones these are good . Useful for any rough edge sharpening. Not long lasting but for the price good. Best to use these for larger knives and tools

Not the best in the market but still a superb choice for amateur cooks. It even might save the day for a pro Chef in a hard time.

Best way to sharpen anything. Do not fall for those really cheap or sometimes very expensive sharpeners that promise comfort, those do not work. The stone method is the best, it just requires some work.
