Product Information

Battle aliens and help Bill and Lance retake their allied military base in this sequel to the popular 'Contra' arcade game. 'Super C' for Nintendo Entertainment System is an NES version of the arcade game, 'Super Contra.' It maintains the same exciting graphics and gameplay action as the arcade version, but it lets you play from the comfort of your own couch. Single player mode lets you choose to play as either Bill or Lance, while a two-player mode lets you and a friend control both characters simultaneously through each stage. Take the characters on an exciting side-scrolling mission as you shoot down enemy soldiers and alien forces. Earn power-ups as you go that let you shoot fireballs and rapid bullets from your gun.

A fast paced, action packed run and gun shooter.
An awesome sequel to an awesome game ( Contra ) Super C, Contra 2 is one of the best games of the original NES library, and even after more than 30 years since it's release, it still maintains a very high replay value, and is a good addition for any NES collection.

Hardcore Gamers Only SORRY No Casual Gamers For This 1
You are looking at a game, that will kick your butt over and over okay let me add one more over again. You will get your money's worth and then some. This is not a game you can pop into your Nintendo (or wii virtual console) and defeat in an hour or two. This is unlike the Original Contra. This game has NO cheat codes for 99 lives. It has a code for only 10 lives. PROS: Different boss battles at the end of every level. Awesome power ups that will make your guns do different things. My favorite is the SPLATTER GUN. It releases bullets every where. The more points you receive, the more extra lives you will earn. If you are playing this game on the Nintendo Virtual console, the system will hold your current high scores, and will save your game at any time. I defeated this game three times in a row. Luckily the will saved it for me. This game is hard. Offers 8 levels, and different challenges throughout each stage. Fun two player game and you have three continues, so you don't have to start at level one if you loose all of your lives. CONS: If you are not playing this game on the Virtual Console, then like most Nintendo games of the time, you will loose any data once you turn the machine off. The ending is not too great. Just shows the helicopter flying off. Once you choose to continue the game when you loose all of your men, you will have to start the stage from the beginning. There are no easy, medium, or hard settings for this game, so CASUAL gamers stay away from this one. But the PROS out lay the cons for this game, so of course my final score is a perfect 5 out of 5. Great Job Konami. Create a game that still gets a perfect score 18 years later.Read full review

Awesome continuation of Contra
Game is super cool especially if you have the Nintendo Game Genie because you can get an extra live every time you kill the enemy. My son and I won the game the first time we played it with the Game Genie.

Super C for NES delivers the goods!
As a sequel to the NES classic Contra, this game has some big shoes to fill. I would definitely say that it delivers the goods, with more of the same ground-breaking graphics, sound, and multi-player fun of the original. Also inherited, however, is the legendary difficulty. For the casual gamer this game can very quickly become an exercise in frustration. For the hardcore gamer, though, it offers great replay value because of the feeling of accomplishment that you get from progressing through the game. Also of note is the exceptional co-op multi-player. This was one of the main reasons that I decided to add this game to my collection. Even though this game came out nearly 17 years ago I still have a blast playing through this game with a friend. To me that is the definition of a true classic! I would recommend this game to anyone who likes the original NES Contra, is looking for a good challenge, wants to show off what the NES can do, or is looking for a good co-op multi-player game.Read full review

It feels very nice and very nostalgic to replay this game and some of the other old school Contra games (i.e. Contra, Contra Three, Contra Force) for the very first time in several years!! 👏👍
