I recently bought a 32x for my Sega Genesis and looked up the highest rated games for it and Virtua Fighter was near the top in all lists. The graphics are laughable by today's standards but back in the day this was amazing. It's fairly basic with few extra moves beyond punch, kick, and jump combos. The one real negative for me is how slow the game moves. I don't know if the game it self is hard on the hardware so everything moves in slow motion or if the framerate is capped at 24 or 30 fps but it's slower than the 2D fighters of the era.

I love this game. A great show piece for the hardware. This is a love letter to the original 3D fighter. The Series S for Sega fans who couldn't afford a Saturn. The idea was awesome don't care what the haters say.

Virtua Fighter on the 32x is simply an amazing piece of software. This is definitely the best game for the Sega 32x add-on. This game alone garners a 32x purchase. While the graphics aren't as good as the Saturn or arcade version, they do have their own charm. There's something about the blocky polygons that makes the game very unique. Virtua Fighter 32x runs very well on the 32x hardware with no slowdown. You would think that a 3D fighting game running with such demand on an older machine would be choppy and slow. Not the case with Virtua Fighter 32x. This game simply rocks. No 32x owner should be without it, in fact it should be the very first game you buy when you get a 32x.
I had played the Virtua Fighter series for quite some time now, playing Virtua Fighter 2 in arcades frequently and playing Virtua Fighter 3tb on my Dreamcast. To see the first installment of this series play on my genesis simply by having a mushroom shaped add-on (the 32x) was impressive. While the graphics are primitive by today's standards, this game is a must have for retro gamers, and if you own a 32x, I suggest picking that version up as there are no load times from cartridges and the graphics are great for the system. Virtua Fighter is the grandfather of 3d fighting games.
Compared to the "original" Sega Saturn release this one still holds up with better frame buffering and a cartridge unique soundtrack. The fighting is deep and very heavily dependent on frames. Harbors a high level of strategic counters as you catch the opponent off-guard, you may prepare a grab or juggle. Very first 3D fighter ever now looked upon as a classic. No Sega 32X gaming purist should be without this title!
Good item, works flawlessly. Thank you.

What can you say about a successful fighting-game franchise? This really shows what the 32x was made of. It's virtua fighter 1 and it's better on the 32x than it was on the Sega Saturn, because of no load times.
