the best of what generation 1 had to offer. reworked sprites, a following pikachu on the overworld map, and now in full color! I couldn't believe it as a kid... IN COLOR. {the things we take for granted lol} many hours i sunk into this game; late nights with a small flashlight under the blankets, the cartridge smashed around in my backpack to battle or trade with friends after school. .battles, consisted of simplistic rock-paper-scissors type mechanics, (a bit of luck and a gimmick wish for victory lol) [teams of 6 vs 6, one on one] ..with trades, pokemon meant more than digipets, each monster representative of hours spent hunting in the game +rare encounter rates... also worth noting, the game is compatible with pokemon stadium (nintendo 64), super game boy (super nintendo), & the gameboy player (gamecube). we would battle our monsters on the big screen crt television we had... one of the best RPGs of all time, definitely in the top 10. period. to argue otherwise would be a fools errand, a simple series that spawned a global phenomenon with millions of sales that continue on to this day. if you somehow have never played any of the original gameboy games, I highly recommend that you take a play through kanto, and see for yourself why the series became so insanely famous. if you've already played the games & you're looking to relive a childhood memory, the music alone is worth the price of admission. happy gaming Read full review

The game has a few glitches. 1. Storing Pokemon in Bill's PC results in the name disappearing and being replaced by a symbol (Name is gone forever). 2. When withdrawing the Pokemon stored, it's name is still replaced by the symbol. 3. Sometimes when trying to go back into Bill's PC after storing or withdrawing Pokemon, the screen will go white and freeze.

This is the best Generation-1 game of the franchisee. Includes more content than Red and Blue. Pikachu's function here is of a tamagochi. In this version, you can obtain all three starters. And of course, is the only game out of the 3 gen 1 games that comes with a mini game. It is simply because all of these things that you can feel free to skip to buy the previews two. Overall best game of its time.

I was a little nervous after reading some of the negative reviews about this seller/product, but I have tested the criticism and atleast for me everything is working as intended and I am very happy I was able to get this game to relive some of my childhood

Pokemon Yellow Version is the first Conglomerate game in the series, combining both Red and Blue versions here in the United States. The game follows the adventures of the famous Pokemon anime character: Ash and his beloved and loyal companion Pikachu. The goal is to collect as many Pokemon as humanly possible, and collect the eight gym badges to take on the Pokemon league. For late 90's standards, this game is pretty advanced, but against today's standards, it's rather blocky and slow with odd graphics. Your starter Pokemon is Pikachu, so you don't have much of a choice, but you do have access to all three of the original starter Pokemon from Blue and Red. As per usual for Pokemon games, A is select, B is cancel, start opens the menu, and select does nothing. Which reminds me, you only have one compartment in your bag, so I'd suggest making great use of your PC boxes. I'll admit that my first Pokemon game was Sapphire, released in 2003, but I do love this game for some odd reason. The world's most famous Pokemon is your starter, you can be whatever gender you want to be, and you still get to catch them all. Though some of the repetitive attacks are annoying, or your attacks miss more than once, this is a great game! I'd recommend this for both the nostalgic Pokemon child of the 90's, or any Pokemon new comer who is curious about its roots in the Nintendo world. A fantastic five out of five for me :)Read full review
Game runs as expected with no issues. The one I used to own in the past was stolen from me, so it's amazing to finally have the Yellow version in my possession again.
