Product Information

When Melvin Junko accidentally found himself in a vat of Grossolium 90, his days of nerdiness were over. The incident changed him into a superhero known to the world as Toxie. With his new super-strength and incredible size, Toxie decided to join a league of similar heroes called the Toxic Crusaders.

In Toxic Crusaders, you take control of Toxie as he tries to save his friends and his girlfriend, Yvonne, from the evil Dr. Killemoff and the Radiation Rangers. Through each of the six sludge, goop, slime, and grime filled levels you'll have to fight off Dr. Killemoff's legions and avoid the treacherous obstacles in your way. At the end of each level, Toxie must defeat an ultra-powerful henchman.

Toxie uses his fists and his mop to ward off the enemies. Picking up power-ups will enable your mop power to increase so that you can shoot projectiles from it or use it as a boomerang. So whip out that cleaning instrument. It's time to hit the streets of Tromaville and free the Toxic Crusaders.

Quick fun, for fans of the show or movies.
For anybody who's watched The Toxic Avenger, it's sequels, or Toxic Crusaders (the TV show) This game is definitely for you. Getting to play as The Toxic Avenger, or "Toxie" as he's named here, is definitely really fun. The game is your standard side-scrolling brawler... similar, in many aspects to "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Arcade Game". However, the game isn't quite the fever dream that "TMNT: The Arcade Game" or "TMNT: Turtles in Time" was. You still have 2-player co-op play, and you can choose between 3 different characters. There's not many modes, just a single-player story mode and that's it, but you don't really need that many for this type of game. One of the biggest things holding the game back is it's combat system. The fighting just doesn't ever seem very accurate, and sometimes you wonder if you're doing any damage at all. Also, if you don't know the characters from the show, half of the game's charm might become lost on you. That's not to say the game isn't fun, though. In fact, there's something very satisfying about using your mop as a golf club and putting your little yellow buddy into the face of an enemy. Not to mention the stages are varied and keep things from getting too boring. Also, if you ever wanted to see a video game based on The Toxic Avenger... right now, this is the closest thing we've got. Overall, I give the game a 3/5. While it has it's faults, it's still fun and has enough variety to keep things interesting... even if the combat itself does get boring after a while.Read full review

Toxic Crusaders (Sega Genesis)
Great classic sega game. If you like beatum ups then this is for you. The gameplay is fast and the graphics are actually good for this era in video games.

Hardcore Toxie Fans Only!
This is the greatest game ever! Until you play it. I love Troma's B movies, but this is a C or even a D game at best!
