This is an extremely well designed coffee maker. The filter basket is easily removable and it is flat on the bottom so it sits stably on the counter when you fill it with grounds. It includes convenient features like a thermal carafe and stops brewing if you take a cup mid brew cycle. But most of all the coffee it makes is excellent. I bought one new 18 years ago and it is just now wearing out.

When I received this coffee maker it was a frog. The water reservoir was caked with brown sediment. The sediment was from either very bad silty well water, or coffee sediment that had been poured into the reservoir. The unit was so crudded up that it could not brew a cycle. I scrubbed and brushed out the reservoir removing the visible brown sediment. I then flushed and soaked the unit with 6 cycles of vinegar followed by six cycles of water. I flushed with water until no brown sediment appeared in the paper filter. Behold, after 6 hours of cleaning, a Prince appeared. The Braun performed better than a new one. Brewed a 10 cup cycle in under 7 minutes. This purchase is important to me because I think that the Braun coffee maker is superior to any coffee maker on the market, regardless of price. The Braun coffee maker disappeared from the US market because a US / Europe Banana embargo prior to 2010.Read full review

It is seldom a product lives up to the manufacturers claims. This coffee makers does. I am a coffeeaholic. After using Mr. Coffee type drip makers and even a 45 cup urn coffee maker I was interested in a product that makes a great cup of coffee. This unit does just that. No paper filter is needed so you get just pure coffee flavor. This unit makes coffee about 50% faster than a standard drip coffee maker. The pot is insulated so well coffee still steams 6 hours later. One really great feature is the auto off after 15 minutes. This equates to no more burned coffee. If you are in the market for a high quality coffee maker consider this one.
I have always been satisfied with braun products. the KF 600 coffee maker is a good example of why I have always been satisfied. for those of you that don't know, if you want 10 cups of coffee from your KF 600 you don't want to put the Brita water filter in the machine because it takes up space witch means you are not putting enough water in the machine. what I did is used a Brita water pitcher to filter my water before I put it in the machine so I didn't waste space in machine with the internal filter.
This Braun makes great coffee, is easy to clean, and fairly easy to load . The pot pours great and the lid is easily removed. I like the thermal carafe since it provides a simple way to keep the coffee warm without burning it. I cannot drink burned coffee. After an hour or so I will sometimes pour a cup and microwave it a little to warm it up. I use cold milk in my coffee so it will cool it down more than I like. I have used my present coffee maker about 8 years. I make a minimum of 2 pots a day and sometimes more. I have another coffee maker in reserve so I will not miss my Braun coffee.
