Their debut CD entitled "The Mating Game", Bitter: Sweet consists of Shana Halligan (vocals with the voice of an angel) and Kiran Shahani (backgrond grooves). This CD is a perfect example of groovy tunes and mixes of some sounds you would here in the 50's. First hearing Bitter: Sweet on "The Devil Wears Prada original soundtrack" with their song "Bittersweet Faith" I became instantly hooked with Bitter: Sweet. And then hearing them on Nip Tuck with their song "The Mating Game" I just had to check them out. My personal favorites would have to be "Our Remains" and "Bittersweet Faith", but every song on the album is likeable and you too will soon become hooked to Bitter: Sweet. Having heard them on the 'The Devil Wears Prada' soundtrack, I was very keen to hear what they offered in full album mode. Once I put it on, I knew I'd made a good decision - in my mind I followed the music into every chill-out zone and funk-filled club I'd ever favoured. This is now one of my favourites - I dare you to take the chance and walk the upmarket designer-fashioned streets of purely vogue sounds. The best for a nice chill-out after a huge night, cafe au lait, latte, chai or hot chocolate in hand. Also dreamy for high-rolling background tracks to set an immaculate dinner-party to. You'll be guaranteed to dress the sounds to impress with this set of tracks!!
Great songs, very unique and interesting sound , I love it my favorite songs are "dirty laundry" and "our remains" I listened to the other album "drama" they have and I would certainly recommend this one over the other. "the mating game" album has a perfect blend of weird yet fun to listen to songs.
Hot and Sexy describes...BitterSweet and just plain delicious just like bittersweet chocolate. The CD was in excellent shape.. and it will never be out dated.
There is nothing bitter about this sweet album. Definately an essential for trip-hop collectors or anyone else who likes sexy music that has a good beat.
